| The Farm Technology Group focuses on the development of precision agriculture technology for arable farming, livestock farming, and horticulture. Following a system approach, the farm enterprise is seen as an integral system of various control loops at different levels of aggregation from Variable Rate Technology at equipment level to integration of technology at farm management level. Farm activities are seen in the context of the food chain with primary agricultural production and post harvest processing forming the origin of the chain and as such determinative for the quality of the food produced. Design and optimisation activities of the Farm Technology Group are conducted in interdisciplinary cooperation and taking into account socio-economical, ecological, and societal criteria. |
